It’s cold out there and that’s the perfect excuse to have some hot chocolate. Why not try out this warm and nourishing hot chocolate packed with healthy goodness. My recipe includes some super foods to make you feel amazing and at the end a sprinkle some cinnamon powder with aids digestions and supports the body’s insulin’s ability to metabolize sugar. And this recipe is dairy free too!

Serves 2


3 cups milk  – almond milk or soymilk or brown rice milk
2 heaped tablespoons of cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon powder
½ teaspoon vanilla bean extract
1-teaspoon raw honey or maple syrup or coconut sugar or stevia
Pinch of sea salt
Pinch of ground ginger


  1. Combine milk, cacao, ginger, vanilla and sweetener into a small pot.
  2. Heat gently
  3. Pour into 2 mugs
  4. Sprinkle cinnamon powder on top
